Kids : Now And Then #2

Kids nowadays are more opinionated than their predecessors.  They (at least most of them) are never afraid to voice out their views even when it comes to addressing someone much older than they are.  They are not worried if their opinions may not be the same as their elders as long as they can express their feelings;  what more if they are right.

On the other hand, some kids can also be very reserved about their opinions.  They will even go to the extent of ignoring their elders (often with a distasteful outlook towards their elders) as long as their privacy is not encroached upon.

These behaviours are totally different from the kids many years ago.  Kids then only speak when they are spoken and most of them time respond accordingly; which means they only say things that may not hurt their elders or in ways that may not result in such an outcome.

If those kids are not spoken to, they are expected to keep quiet and do their own work.  The old proverb that says 'Children are supposed to be seen not heard' still has it's merit even in the present situation because when you get to hear the kids of the present, it is usually an earful!
