Red Hot Over Rising Prices!

Star Q

Where the increase of prices of food items are concerned, we the consumers, are not only feeling the pinch; in actual fact we are being slapped in the face with this frightening reality.  Much have been said about this matter and sad to say, nothing is being done to rectify the situation, save a back-to-the-drawing board committee to look into the matter which will only incur more financial burden upon the nation.

It's Just School! Let Your Kids Go!

Star Q

Okay.  It is almost the end of January and the new school new has actually gone through about three weeks of school.  You would think that children have already gotten used to going to school in the morning and involving themselves with the many school activities.  You would also think that they are happy to get away from their home environment and to meet their friends in school!

Expedition to The Land of Green

Star Q

Malaysians are a determined lot.  Everything seems to be "Malaysia Boleh!', which in a way is a good thing because it gives other people who are not Malaysians the impression that we Malaysians are able to undergo and overcome any obstacle and emerge victorious and smelling like roses!

Appreciating A Free Library

Star Q

I can go on and on about reading and the benefits that it can bring.  And the idea of having a 'Little Library' like the one that is currently cropping up in Washing, USA, is something you would expect from a community that has its heart into reading.  The informal lending libraries work under a simple principle, 'take a book, lend a book'.

School Children Affected By Rising Costs

Star Q
Image sourced from google

The government has been rather lackadaisical about it's moves regarding the increase of almost every major necessity you can think of; starting from petrol (I heard it went up again last night, albeit five cents!), to sugar and to electricity.  The domino effect of all this spree is the increase of every other thing related to the ones mentioned above.  And school children are caught in between!

Be Angry Correctly!

Star Q

We cannot ignore the fact that there has been numerous attacks on Islam in this country through the social media of late.  We also cannot ignore that these people who make these attacks are ignorant themselves.  But being ignorant about someone else's religion does not guarantee a person a safe passport to say and do whatever that person likes.

No Smoke Without Fire

Star Q

Marina Mahathir and her band of merry flower-bearing ladies' gesture of solidarity last Sunday was a plausible one.  Nothing says more about unity then people from different races getting together and pledging their oneness.  I am all for it.

If You Think Education Is Expensive, Try Ignorance.

Star Q

The word solidarity and moderation cannot come at a more important time like yesterday when many people called for it.  They called for respect for the religions of others and they expressed outrage at those who carried out actions that did not seem to reflect any kind of solidarity.  It is really not that strange when you really think of the reasons (justifiable or not according to your own reasoning) this same group of people react as they did.

First Day of Scool 2014

Star Q

The first thing I notice when school opens for the new year is not the students.   Of course many will be looking at the fresh-faced form ones in their new attires, new school bags and new shoes.  They all look so eager to start lesson in their new secondary school.  No, the students are not the ones whom I notice first; in fact the first people I notice are the parents.

After Two Years.....

Can't believe that I have been too busy to write that I have actually left this blog untouched for two long years.  A lot of thing...
