The Need To Address Stress Part II

My Prayers Go Out To You

Other than family members, one can always tell your problems to your very close friends in relative confidence.  Of course, it is not easy to find friends with whom you can confide your deep secrets but if you do get such a friend, it is definitely one worth keeping.  I would say that among the hundreds of friends that we have probably made in our life time, there is bound to be those precious few who are the real diamonds.

Another way that should be able to sufficiently reduce a person's stress is to bring one self closer to God.  I suppose it is not just the idea of acknowledging oneself as a humble human being in the eyes of God, but also the time spent getting together with pious people who silently pray and recite words from the Quran, which can indeed sound very soothing when the soul is in a state of desperation.  And when all the congregation have left the mosque, it is the quietness of the prayer hall and the silence of the night that can be calming to the soul; a sense of tranquility that is unobtainable when at home or the work place.  Tranquility that is light to the soul.

On a final note, whether you choose diamonds or light, make sure you take that first step to destress yourself, because a diamond that is bright will bring you light.
