Not the school in question |
"You reap what you sow", or at least that's how the saying goes. In most cases, this saying applies appropriately but in this particular case which I am going to relate, it is the exact opposite.
This scenario is based on the SPM results (again) which was announced recently. It is normal for schools that do well in the examination to receive waves of congratulations from people from every corner of the world. And it is also normal for schools that did not do so well, to be visited by inspectorates and officers from the education department, most of the time demanding to know the reasons for the poor achievement.
In this particular case, what is more dramatic is, even the teachers and administrators of the under-achieving school get into a tantrum over the poor examination results and, unfortunately their students are the people to whom they let off this scathing steam. Pity the students! I guess, what the the teachers and administrators have forgotten (probably due to the interrogations conducted by the education officers upon them!) is that, they have done all they could; and the students and their parents have strived equally hard. At the end of the day, after all the hard work, all is left in the hands of God Almighty!
One thing I know about teachers, is that they don't give up easily. So, teachers, keep up the good work and deliver all the knowledge to your students! And, oh yes, try not to snap at them too much!
