Nothing Funny About Being Lazy

Star Q

The teacher took a long long, deep look at me, as if waiting for some kind of logical response to his predicament.  He had earlier on vented out his frustration to me; not at me.  He had told me how frustrated he was with his students.

A Tale of Time

Star Q

The time was 1.50 p.m. on a hot, blistering Wednesday afternoon and there was pandemonium every where, including inside this particular class room.  Students outside the class were running here and there, tugging and lugging their bags along (those who brought their books to school) and some were making one-hundred meter dashes (those who did not bring their books!) to the nearest school exit!

This is our country; isn't it?

Star Q

The event was the distribution of the RM100 to all students of this particular school and parents were also invited to attend.  Present at the event was the town's political representative.  This alone necessitated the playing of the National Anthem which meant everyone had to sing along; just sing.  Whether or not they really meant it, was a different story altogether.

Studying the Student

Star Q

I have been meaning to write about it for sometime now but the situation is really getting out of hand that this entry cannot wait any longer; especially when I have come to note one possible reason why students do not like certain subjects.

To Force or To Enforce

Star Q

Gone are the days when students (and teachers included) only have one (or two at the most!) types of attire to wear.  Students have their normal school uniform to wear from Monday to Thursday; and for the Malays they wear their traditional uniform on Friday.  Now however, the students have to buy a different attire for their societies, sports and uniform bodies.  And for some, a different set deemed as the corporate attire!

Good Leadership Through Example

Star Q

It has been quite a long time since I heard this quote.  Of late, however, it has been ringing in my ears like the sound of a huge bell; painful and consistent!  This quote, which was made famous during our fourth Prime Minister's era, should find it's place again now!

Exemplary Military Conduct?

Star Q

I have always had high respect for military personnel mostly because of the occupation they represent and the safety of the nation that they uphold.  I have always had a good first impression when I see young army officers, all decked out in the uniforms, looking upright and disciplined.

Making Sense of Education Expenses

Star Q

I guess I have been lucky enough not to have the above expenses included in my monthly expenditure.  In fact, I know I am lucky compared to those who have to fork out so much.  However, I would think that spending any amount of money for your children's education should not be considered a burden.

Foibles of Funded Phones

Government lifts smartphone cap - Nation | The Star Online

All Malaysians between the age of 21 to 30 must be jumping with delight at the government's decision to give a rebate of RM200 for all smartphones, regardless of the price.  All Malaysians?  Probably not!  Realistically, 'all Malaysians' here would probably refer to those who can really afford to purchase and have smartphones; people who would probably have some kind of permanent jobs, who probably can sustain themselves!

After Two Years.....

Can't believe that I have been too busy to write that I have actually left this blog untouched for two long years.  A lot of thing...
