Star Q
I guess it's just human nature for people to talk. People just like to talk about, well, anything under the sun. Some people especially talk about things even they themselves don't know about or are not expert in. They simply talk to exercise their rights as humans and neglect to consider the wrongs they might do.
Anyone and everyone who has got relatives or some kind of relationship with the people on board the ill-fated Malaysian Airline flight MH370 are mourning for their loss. No one can possibly fathom the emotional torment that each and everyone of these people must be going through.
But in the middle of these sadness, we get unlicensed reporters giving out unreliable news from unreliable sources saying a multitude of things about the incident. Then there are those netizens who curse and insult the victims of flight MH370 blaming them for everything from the lack of quality of nasi lemak to their inability to watch other shows on television!
Legally these people are merely exercising their rights to voice out their feelings, but in the midst of expressing their feelings they should not forget those whose situations are much worse than theirs. I mean what is more worse than losing the lives of your loved ones compared to not being able to watch other shows on television for a few hours. The loss of lives of your loved ones is permanent and cannot be replaced, but you can always watch reruns of your favourite programmes on television.
In the process of exercising their rights to speak, people should also exercise their rights to be compassionate and thoughtful. After all, when one day you eventually lose one (or more) of your loved one, you would expect other people to be compassionate to you.
Make the world a better place today by simply doing nothing at all, because if you can't say anything good about anything, then just keep quiet!
