My first impression of her was of a very caring and motherly lady.  The sincerity of my thoughts were intensified further for the fact that even though she was sick, she still trudged on to continue doing her duties until it was time for her to retire from her profession or from life itself, whichever comes first.

I am not against people who do extra work like small businesses to support their families.  In fact I am not embarrassed to admit that my own mother once had a small business of selling Nasi Lemak to help out with my family's expenses.  I can empathise with families where the fathers do not earn enough and the mothers take it upon themselves to help out in any way they can.

Yes, she started her singing career with the cover version of the late Normadiah's song, Seri Dewi Malam and many have said that this song launched her into the world of stardom  Everyone is entitled to his own opinion.  I on the other hand is of the opinion that Normadiah did better with the original version.  But that doesn't mean that the late Sharifah Aini could not sing well.  In fact, among the many local songstresses, she is my absolute favourite where melodious voice is concerned.  And there were very few of her songs that I did not like.
