A Cancelled Trip

Entries in My Other Blogs :

I was supposed to go to PWTC in Kuala Lumpur for the annual Book Fair yesterday.  However, at the last minute I had to call it off.  I just didn't want to be caught up in some other people's problem.  In the effort to remain non-judgmental about what other people are doing, I shall say just that, and nothing more!

Abolishing PTPTN or Abolishing Personal Debts

Entries in My Other Blogs :

Dr M: Abolishing PTPTN may impact education costs

I, like many other parents with their children pursuing tertiary education, have always breathed out a long sigh of relief (albeit not all the way!) when it comes to PTPTN.  It may not actually solve all our children's financial problems in universities of wherever they are doing their tertiary education, but it does alleviate the hardship faced by parents.

RM25/dance - Let's Dance!

Entries in My Other Blogs :

This video has nothing to do with the sensational news   about   some  pole dancers a few weeks back!  What was so sensational about the news was that the dancers were fined  a    ridiculous   RM25 for dancing as pole dancers  when  they could have easily made RM250 that night!  10% of that income hardly made any kind on dent on the dancers purses, let alone their egos (news photos actually showed these ladies laughing the insane fine away!)

So, I guess for RM25/dance, they can probably dance every night!  So?  Let's Dance!!!

Smoking During Lessons In School

Entries in My Other Blogs :

It is really disheartening when you enter your class to teach, you notice that a few of the students are missing;  and it makes it even more worse when you notice that these students are the same students who have missing their lessons before this.  Kind of makes you wonder why these students even come to school in the first place?  Not only do they miss one particular subject, in fact they have made the ability of being absent from class an acquired art.

What is even more disheartening is (things can get worse actually!) these students then saunter into class half way through the lesson that is forty minutes after.  You would think that with the remaining forty minutes they have left, they would pay full attention to what is being taught in class and concentrate on completing the tasks at hand, but no!  They just take their seats and start talking to each other (probably picking up where they left off before entering the class!) oblivious to the fact that the teacher is teaching his heart out and the rest of their classmates are busy (not really!) doing their work (not really again!!!)

No Excuses!

Obviously, produced by a student!  However, in reality, the real reasons for all the three observations are as follows :

The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth!

Only applicable to those whom it may concern :-)

No Such Thing As Free Period! Period!

Entries in My Other Blogs :

I remember about five years ago, when teachers were complaining about the relief classes they were getting  (not that they are not complaining anymore now!) the principal at that time made a stern statement (which I will remember, God willing, till the day I retire!) that teachers do not have free periods.  If a teacher teaches for six out of the ten periods per day, the teacher cannot consider himself free for the other four periods!

In fact he said, during these four periods, the teacher is required to do other teaching related work (I stress on the word work, just as he did!) like marking exercise books or exam papers, completing lesson plans, creating and producing resource materials to be used for teaching, updating the special rooms that the teacher is assigned to plus other related clerical work!

Do What You Are Paid To do!

It's a necessity!  You work because you want the pay in order for you to live; to buy the basic necessities of life like a house (and the things that go with it!), a car (or two!) and food (some more gastronomically adventurous than others!).  You would also want for what is more important like your children's education and most importantly, to save for your golden years (if you live that long!)

After Two Years.....

Can't believe that I have been too busy to write that I have actually left this blog untouched for two long years.  A lot of thing...
